From 2021 to 2023, we implemented the Liechtenstein agroecology project together with partners on behalf of the Stiftung Lebenswertes Liechtenstein. This gave rise to the Feldfreunde association, which is committed to sustainable, agroecological nutrition and agriculture in Liechtenstein, and the Bionetz, an association of innovative organic farms that cultivate new crops and have introduced an organic pasture cattle system (see project archive). Everything that has been done and achieved is shown in a nice brochure (download link below).
Since January 2024, the Feldfreunde association is independent and in the lead of all activities. It organizes a variety of events to sensitize consumers to sustainable agricultural production and good food: Farm visits, field tours, lectures, cooking courses and corporate volunteering, to name just a few. This brings participants into direct contact with local agriculture and into conversation with producers. With the Bionetz, the association supports farms in the production of sustainable food and its marketing in order to make it accessible to the people. The association is also involved in communication, providing information on relevant content via its website, blog posts and social media. The Feldfreunde are also in contact with other players in Liechtenstein's food system, which regularly results in fruitful collaborations.
The Feldfreunde association has awarded us a 3-year consultancy contract for scientific support, so we will continue to support them in the following areas:
- Information
- Communication
- Dialogue and networking
- Support for the office
- Technical support and, if necessary, operational advice on the pasture cattle system
