As a research associate, Christine Flury works on projects in the areas of farm sustainability and animal breeding/animal husbandry.
Christine holds a doctorate in agronomy and has been committed to the conservation of local Swiss breeds for 20 years. Due to her many years as a lecturer at the Bern University of Applied Sciences, she has expertise in teaching, project management and scientific work. In 2023, she completed the CAS Sustainable Development at the University of Bern. She runs an organic farm together with her husband and is therefore also very familiar with practical farming.
"Agriculture is very close to my heart. Like society as a whole, it faces major challenges. I see the transformation to a sustainable food system as a joint search and learning process. I want to contribute to this process through my work at the Institute of Agroecology."
