The project breaks new ground in nutrition education by using agroecology and raises participants' awareness of sustainable and healthy eating habits. The focus is on good taste, not deprivation. The project empowers participants to actively engage with sustainable agriculture and to adopt healthy, enjoyable and sustainable eating habits. The project covers three language regions of Switzerland and is taking place in the cantons of Glarus, Solothurn, Ticino and Vaud.
A digital community platform connects all participants, enables the sharing of information and ideas, the announcement of workshops and events on the farms, and much more. Participants receive valuable tips and suggestions on how they can enjoy eating more sustainably and healthily. Their ideas, suggestions and needs are taken on board and implemented wherever possible. This can lead to new and innovative solutions.
Participants can take part in a wide range of events and workshops. They have direct access to farms in their region and can connect with pioneering farmers. This creates new connections, networks and insights into each other's lives. Challenges and gamification approaches are also planned to develop and implement new ideas in a playful way.
The impact of the implemented tools on the participants will be measured twice a year, enabling continuous adaptation. This will result in a field-tested catalogue of tools and, in addition, a guide to how effective tools can be developed through agroecology. Both should be available for further application.
The project runs in synergy with the resource project 'Agroecology Switzerland', in which 40 farms in the cantons of Glarus, Solothurn, Ticino and Vaud are implementing agroecological measures to improve their ecological, economic and social sustainability. An important aspect is the involvement of consumers, which can be ensured by 'More than Food'.
