As agricultural advisor and research associate at the Institute of Agroecology, Felix Zingg is in direct contact with agricultural holdings and supports them in project implementation. His key topics are arable farming as well as sustainability, climate and agricultural policy.
After training as a technical model maker and studying agronomy and international agriculture, Felix Zingg obtained a Master of Science degree in Land and Water Management from Wageningen University in the Netherlands in 2014. He subsequently worked as a consultant for the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome in 2014-2015, before taking up a teaching position in crop production, organic agriculture and soil fertility at the Strickhof agricultural college in Lindau, Switzerland in 2015 and working as an organic farm advisor. Since 2019, Felix Zingg has been farm manager of an organic holding. As such he is expertly qualified to implement scientific findings into the everyday practice of organic farming.
"I am interested in both agricultural production per se and the interface of agriculture with other societal issues, such as nutrition, biodiversity, food waste and subsistence. The business world has been talking about the "circular economy" for a long time. Closing loops at farm or regional level would be a first important step towards a more independent and sustainable farming sector."
