International Conference on Alternative Proteins for Food and Feed in Berlin

The global food and feed systems face significant challenges in ensuring food security and adequate nutrition for a rapidly growing population, while also supporting farmers' livelihoods, protecting stakeholders' interests, and preserving environmental sustainability. Urs Niggli, President of the Institute for Agroecology, will speak at the conference, focusing on the comparison of different farming systems and dietary patterns in light of climate change and sustainability.

A holistic approach to sustainable agricultural practices and food systems, covering production to consumption, is essential. By integrating innovative developments with environmental protection, alternative protein sources like insects, fungi, algae, and microbes offer promising solutions for sustainable, nutritious, and safe food for the future.

The International Conference on Alternative Proteins for Food and Feed will address these solutions, examining how sustainable alternative proteins can transform global food and feed systems. Discussions will focus on safety, nutrition, consumer perspectives, and economic viability.

The conference will conclude with an interactive panel discussion, giving participants an opportunity to share insights and help shape the conversation. Suggestions for discussion topics can be shared through the registration form.

This hybrid event (virtual and in-person) allows for global participation, with options to join from anywhere. Register now to participate in the International Conference on Alternative Proteins for Food and Feed, taking place in Berlin from 03–05 December 2024.
